Lesson Task – Designing Different Looks

Copy the exact content from a homepage of a website of your choice. Now redesign this homepage in three different ways. Each design should evoke a different emotional response from viewers. You can choose what you would like these emotional responses to be.

For this task i chose MakeupMekka, as the site has a lot of potential, but the colorscheme and sales ad makes it rather tacky.

Calm, cosy

I would actually prefer this sort of style to the screaming pink they use in the original, as it perhaps caters more to my age group than teenage girls.

Youthful, vibrant:

To make this look work better one would have to improve readability and how the pictures work with the rest of the page, but it is simply to give an idea of how it could look.

Sharp, edgy

I think this one would work well on a bit more mature audience, perhaps between 25 and 35, than the look they have now.
